Religion and Programming Languages

One Michael Kimsal put up a survey to determine the correlation between what religion you believe in and what programming language is your favorite. Although of little real use, and probably not to be taken seriously, it’s going to be interesting to see the results.

At the time of writing, there are 1003 entries. Why not put in yours? It’ll make the world a better place… (not really ;) )

I bet Scientologists will love LOGO. Har Har.

  1. Hey there – thanks for linking to the survey. We’re up to 2280 entries. While you’re right there’s not going to be too much value in it, with thousands of responses, I think we may see a few interesting correlations. What originally got me to thinking about doing this was wondering if “loosely typed” (duck-typing) languages encouraged some sort of moral relativism, or if relativists were draw to the loosely typed languages. This survey won’t show causality in either direction, but may still be somewhat enlightening. Or not. :)

    Thanks again!

No sweat, Michael, anything for a just cause ;) . I definitely agree with you that it’s going to be interesting! I, too, would like to know if aspects of one’s religion would shine through to one’s favorite language.
